Big Family Little Income isn’t your usual family blog. Firstly, it’s written by Australia’s largest daddy blogger, me – although I am attempting to lose a few kilo. Secondly, I don’t pretend our little family is perfect. We simply wouldn’t even know how to fake it. So the posts are full of mishaps, missteps, mistakes and our four little misses (and one master). And the very occasional cuss word – because kids. Thirdly, after life slapped us upside the head by nearly taking my wife away from us at the end of 2015, we bought a bus and the seven of us are now travelling and working our way around Australia on a whim, a shoestring and the odd witty remark. So now we’re living the dream we never knew we wanted and appreciating every single day adventuring with our kids. Because life is a gift and this family is my world.

You can tickle your funny bone with some parenting humor or read emotional pieces which most of us (at some point) would relate to. Moreover, TCT is also out there to help mommies and daddies with their queries related to baby and child care. DId you know the number of blended families now exceeds the number of nuclear (traditional) families in the United States? Did you know the divorce rate for blended families is nearly 70%? These figures seem to foreshadow the divorce rate possibly remaining at current levels if not increasing.

It’s from these statistics grew my desire to help reverse the trending divorce rate. In the end, the true victims are the children. It shouldn’t be a surprise to now see young adults preferring to live together rather than get married. Young couples now delay marriage if they decide to so at all.

In 2011, I started the website Support for Stepdads. I feel have insights as to why the divorce rate for blended families is so high. Many couples remarry with many of the expectations and hopes they had for their first marriage. You only have to look at the blended family divorce statistics to realize marrying into a blended family is not the same.

Through my website, I share my insights as well as the insights of others. By providing realistic information on stepfatherhood and blended family life I hope to better prepare men and women considering becoming a blended family. Also, to provide current stepdads and wives with information on the dynamics unique to the blended family. Again with the goal of providing them with tools and strategies necessary for coping with life in the blender. The website is for stepdads, aspiring stepdads and the women who love them.

DustinNikkiMommyofThree.com

My name is Nicole Anderson and I have always been a stay at home mom. It definitely wasn’t the plan in the beginning but it’s just not the way things worked out. I love being a stay at home mom no matter how challenging it can be sometimes. Our oldest daughter was diagnosed with Autism when she was 4 years old. She is now 16 and even though she still has certain daily struggles not limited to social interactions and situations. Every day is a new learning experience. We also have two boys, one is 11 years old and our youngest just turned 8 years old.

I have always liked to write and I have even dabbled a little in writing children’s books but I never really got anywhere with it. I think that’s what made it so easy for me to start my blog in the first place. When I first started writing DustinNikki Mommy of Three, I was writing product reviews. Product reviews on things my family has used including baby and kids items, household and beauty items and more. After a while I wanted to expand my topics to family and parenting as well.

When I am not writing product reviews or running giveaways, I am posting about my kids and family. Since our daughter has autism I like to share things that may be helpful to other families. I have also written a few articles about food allergies. Food allergies can be scary stuff and after we found out about our older son’s food allergies, I also began sharing some tips about that too.

Some of the less serious stuff I have written about were crafts for kids, some DIY things, recipes and cake decorating. I also write about things we have done as a family, vacations and places we have visited. Why I love being a stay at home mom or just being a parent to these amazing kids we have!
